The SQL DBA  is part of the technical team responsible for managing the development and support of enterprise databases. You will be expected to ensure the optimal performance and security of all production databases, stay on top of potential risks, mitigations and anticipate performance issues based on business and database growth as well as assist in Business Intelligence and all other future reporting needs.

Core Requirements 

 

    • 2-5 years designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008
    • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability
    • Experience resolving processing bottlenecks
    • Experience or knowledge of SSRS, SSAS, and other SQL BI Tools. Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, verbally and in writing
    • Participation in technical support when needed

    Additional Requirements

    • MCITP Database Administrator certification
    • Experience with Call Center Reporting metrics
    • Experience with older small business database platforms [Access 97 through 2007]
    • Knowledge or Experience with OLAP / Data cubes
    • Knowledge or Experience with SharePoint 2010
    • Knowledge of SQL Policy based management
    • Knowledge of SQL best practices needed for PCI Compliance
    • Some development experience
       

    Other Responsibilities

    • Reviews SPROCS for scalability, performance and efficiency gains
    • Setting up SQL Cluster with QA staging environment. Ensures that modifications to database will be scalable prior to them being deployed into the production environment
    • Works closely with other departments to create, update, modify and test changes to reports before elevation to production
    • Develops procedures to continuously monitor database activity to identify and resolve potential performance issues prior to them impacting production applications
    • Develops infrastructure for reporting needs across the business
    • Develops and maintains a backup and recovery strategy for all databases
    • Provide support as needed
    • Compliance with Information Security Policy and PCI DSS 2.0 guidelines
    • Knowledge of I3 Dialer, Call Center operations or Blood Bank industry a plus
