REPORTS TO: Global CEO of the Company
LOCATION: Montreal, Canada or Toronto, Canada (must be willing to commute to Montreal)

COMPANY PROFILE: A privately-held company founded in the early 1990’s with annual revenues of over half a billion dollars. The company is the world’s largest direct selling telecommunications and home services provider to customers in 20 countries spanning North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The company’s product offerings include Digital Phone Service with Video Phones, Local & Long Distance, High Speed Internet, Wireless, Satellite TV, and Home Security.

JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Operating Officer (COO), Canada is the senior leader of the Canadian business and is accountable for leading the operating activities, executing business plans, developing world class leaders, and delivering favorable financial results for the company’s Canadian business. The Canadian business is currently at about $50 million and growing with 160 employees and 150,000 customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Identify, develop, and lead an effective, results driven executive team
• Establish short and long term business goals
• Demonstrate successful execution of business strategies
• Focus on making processes sound and scalable
• Prioritize initiatives and help set priorities for the organization
• Coach and provide regular feedback to organizational leaders
• Advise the CEO on key initiatives and long term business plans
• Ensure quality control at all levels
• Ensure all department heads are fully aware of operational objectives
• Execute the business and financial plan

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• At least 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years being at an executive or general manager level of an organization
• P&L experience preferred.
• Strong telecommunications background required
• Operations experience required (i.e., service delivery, provisioning, customer care, etc.)
• Consumer (B2C) experience preferred
• Knowledge of Canadian telecommunications market preferred (French fluency not required)
• Bachelor’s degree required

Prefer previous work experience from one or more of the following companies:  Telus, VideoTron, Bell Canada and/or Rogers.
