Job Description
The Nortel Meridian 1 PBX Technician is responsible for the commissioning of PBX and peripheral equipment associated with the Meridian 1 PBX at the customer locations, both stateside and international. This position requires heavy travel, but requires the home location to be in a very nice part of VA. There is relocation assistance available.

The duties will include testing, troubleshooting of the PBX, testing and troubleshooting transmission facilities, upgrading and administering multiple vendor systems, ensuring quality customer service and providing support to a varied user community. Additionally, the PBX Technician / Commissioner is responsible for the development of project related documentation to include, Test and Acceptance Plans, Method’s of Procedures, and project design drawings.

The PBX Technician is expected to perform his/her duties with minimum supervision. This is a Senior level role.

Job Responsibilities:

Ability to troubleshoot issues within the following Nortel Product Line: Nortel Meridian 1 / CS1000 platform and CallPilot.

Job Qualifications:
  • The successful candidate must be a US Citizen and able to pass a back ground investigation. This requires a clean background
  • Minimum Associates degree, technical degree, relevant military experience, equivalent special electronics training, or equivalent work experience is required
  • Minimum 3 years experience and training in Nortel CS1000, Meridian 1 Option61 or Option81C PBX systems
  • General knowledge in the use of electronic test equipment is required
  • Position requires Nortel Meridian 1 Certification, commercial or military training on switch. (Example: Option61, Option81, Option81C, CS1K, CS1000 etc.).The candidate must provide proof of certifications / training
  • Minimum high school or equivalent education required
