Job Description
This position will be responsible for supporting operating system technologies (Win2003/2008), server consolidation initiatives of highly integrated local and wide area enterprise Client/Server environments to meet client strategic systems goals. Additionally, the position will provide technical engineering support for the installation, maintenance and support of VMware solutions.
Job Requirements:  
  • 7-10 years of experience as a Windows Systems Engineer in large corporate environments is required. 
  • Experience with Enterprise-class VMWare infrastructures in high availability, redundant, and optimized configurations. 
  • Must be conversant with VMWare features including HA, VMotion, VMFS, NFS, VCB integration with Backup Exec or other third party backup software, DRS, Update Manager, and Enterprise Converter.  ESX Server experience required. 
  • NetApp/SAN technologies and storage preferred. 
  • Adept at building “gold” images in conjunction with Microsoft best practices and P to V conversion and cloning. 
  • 2 Years experience with Virtual Center and/or Vserver implementation and administration 
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 Server, OS Performance Monitoring 
  • Experience with large server migration/consolidation efforts within multiple datacenter environments 
  • Vast experience managing  Active Directory in large scale enterprise with over 3,000 users 
  • Ability to configure and manage site and domain level GPO's. 
  • Understanding of network security, as well as infrastructure security concepts 
  • 5+ years working in Large Scale HP server environment.  HP Blades experience preferred. 
  • You must be able to personally resolve complex server hardware and OS related issues. 
  • Strong experience with High Availability architected solutions is preferred including clustering. 
  • Ability to develop strategic technical documentation and written communications relative to field of expertise (white papers, standards documents, procedural documents) 
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in computer science, management information systems or related field or equivalent experience, and five to ten years of experience in Information Technology industry, including two to five years of experience in an Information Technology consulting or senior role.
  • VMWare on ESX server experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 and BackOffice application suite Required.
  • Experience with advanced network storage concepts and solutions.  SAN NetApp preferred.
  • Experience with anti-virus products and vendors.
  • Experience and local and wide area networking concepts.
  • Experience in server administration and active directory.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of internal and external customers. Demonstrated presentation skills; demonstrated planning and organizing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in applying established techniques, procedures or standards; demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
